On Saturday, August 26, the Sea Sounds Summer Festival hosts its 6th music live show and presents Irie Action Sound System and MC Yinka for an evening dedicated to reggae music at Fougaro beach (St. George, Santorini).

Having as a common base the love for Reggae music and influenced by the tradition of the Soundsystems that characterize the Jamaican Culture, they started in 2005 as URM, and in 2009 they were renamed to Irie Action Sound System with OldJohn, Soundman, K-mood and Nesco as key members.

Irie Action Sound System started by creating their very own small sound system and they quickly managed to appear in bigger music stages and to collaborate with Ranking Joe, Ranking Trevor, Fitta Warri, Earl Zero and Ranking Forest, circulating two vinyls. They have also collaborated with international musicians from Europe and Jamaica such as Uwe Banton, Earl Sixteen, U-Brown, Ras Daniel Ray, Marlene Johnson, Herace Martin, King Shiloh.

MC Yinka is one of the most famous and talented rappers in Greece. He started in 1988 by doing MCing at Drum N ‘Bass Parties with Dj Texture, with whom he would later found the Urban Links. He is a founding member of the hip-hop bands Αδιάσπαστη Ουσία and Παράγοντες, member of Street Buzz, Dr.Votkanini and Imam Baildi and creator of the Urbanix and Fuzics music projects. He has collaborated with well-known Djs as well as with Filippos Pliatsikas on the recording of the album Omnia.

The sound system is set and Irie Action Sound System with MC Yinka are ready to introduce us to the Jamaican tradition through Reggae, Roots, Dub, U.K.Steppers music trails.
